9 SRS Air Bags

Vehicle Stability ControlThe Fortuner comes standard with nine SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) Airbags throughout the model. It is equipped with the SRS driver airbag, SRS front passenger airbag, SRS knee airbag (Driver’s seat), SRS side airbags (front seats) and SRS curtain shield airbags (front and rear seats).

Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)

Smart BrakesAnti-lock brakes help to prevent the wheels from locking up when braking on slippery roads or during sudden braking. EBD optimizes the distribution of the braking force in various driving conditions. This mechanism comes standard on the redesigned Fortuner which enhances and promotes safety for all passengers.

Vehicle Stability Control & Traction Control

Traction ControlVehicle Stability Control helps prevent front or rear wheel slip while cornering by reducing engine power and applying brake force to the wheels that require it. The Active Traction Control System (A-TRC) activates the moment the risk of wheel spin is detected to help enhance the ability to grip the road and maintain traction. The Fortuner boosts these two safety mechanisms which make driving in undesirable road/weather conditions safer.

Reverse Sensors

Back SensorBuilt in reserve sensors support smooth reversing operations when parking the redesigned Fortuner. The closer the vehicle gets to an object the sensors make an alarming sound indicating when the vehicle is approaching maximum distance from the object prompting the driver to stop.

Collision Protection

Safe CabinThe Fortuner is packed with several crumple zones which are designed to help absorb impact energy in the event of a collision. Impact absorbing measures include the front bumper, hood, cowl and front fender brackets.
